2 pounds of spareribs
1 tablespoon canola oil
1 clove garlic
1 6-oz. can tomato puree
2 cups water
3 potatoes, quartered
salt and pepper
Cut spareribs into serving pieces and brown in oil. Transfer to another saucepan. Fry garlic in same oil unti golden brown, remove garlic, and pour tomato puree and water into pan. Stir and pour over spareibs. Cover pan and simmer 30 minutes. Add quartered potatoes and seasonings. Cover pan and cook until meat and potatoes are tender, add more water if necessary.
